Who Receives Help at The Quiet Mind Centre, Exmouth?

The therapies are intended for people on state benefits or who have a very low income. However no means-testing is required as the whole interaction between the client and The Centre is based on mutual trust and respect

When a client has received an assessment of how we can help them, and been allocated to the appropriate therapist, The Centre then steps back and, because of confidentiality, does not interfere in the relationship between the client and therapist.

HOW TO GET HELP FROM THE CENTRE

Clients are referred to The Centre by Doctors, Social Workers and Health Visitors. There are other statutory or charitable organisations who also recommend The Centre. Clients can also self-refer and contact The Centre by dropping in, telephoning or emailing to make an appointment for an initial assessment.

 CLIENT ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE

  • The client has an initial assessment either with the General Manager or the Deputy Manager.
  • The client is asked who referred them.
  • The main problem is identified.
  • Further information is required to help compile a confidential profile of the client's health and personal situation.
  • Appropriate therapies are then suggested and discussed with the client.
  • The client is not pressurised to accept any therapy with which they are not comfortable, and always retains ultimate control over their treatment.
  • An individualised ‘package’ of treatment is tailored to the client's specific needs.
  • It is the policy of The Centre to arrange the first therapy appointment at the time of the assessment.

HOW TO GET HELP IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE CENTRE'S CRITERIA

If you do not qualify to receive treatment from the Centre we can refer you to our therapists most of whom have their own private practices.
